Putting Care at the Center 2017 is less than four months away. Registration for the conference will be opening within the next two weeks. Here is a sneak peek at the workshops, plenary sessions, and keynote speakers packed into the three-day conference, co-hosted with Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, CA:
Keynote speaker America Bracho, Executive Director of Latino Health Access in Santa Ana, CA, is a trailblazer in the field of community-led health promotion. Dr. Bracho believes that community workers are rewriting health care paradigms across the world, and is working at Latino Health Access to harness their power to transform whole communities. PBS NewsHour’s Jackie Judd will once again moderate the conference’s four plenary sessions: Coalescing a field of complex care, Consumer leadership, Learning from parallel social movements, and Lessons from complex care in California. Speakers include Diane Meier (Center to Advance Palliative Care), Glen Martin (JustLeadershipUSA), and Mitch Katz (Los Angeles County Health Agency). Read more about the plenary sessions.
Putting Care at the Center 2017 will have workshops covering a broad array of topics including successful community health worker programs, building a trauma-informed workforce, and politics and policy around complex care. Other highlights include learning to design and conduct a randomized controlled trial from MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab and learning to use design thinking to build a culture of innovation and effect structural change from CareOregon.
